The FNAF book that ive read.

THE FNAF BOOK THAT I`VE READ

The book that i´ve read is called Five nights at Freddy´s, in short, FNAF.

This book was originally made after a game by Scott Cawthon that released in 2014. The game is, put in simple terms, a horror/suspense indie game that soon after its release had grown popular quickly, thus having merchandise and sequels -or prequels- of such, either via game, movie, comics or books.

The book (and its other two) had been created with the idea of publishing it to a younger audience, more concretely put, teenagers from ten to fifteen year olds. Like any other book, it starts with a group of protagonists and secondary characters, but as we read, we find a rather disturbing past with our main protagonist, charlie.

Her father was, put simply, a creator. He`d make animatronics and, seeing the success that he was having, he decided that fusing robots with animalistic suits (e.g. bear, chicken, fox, bunny..) and a pizzaria, would be a good idea.

In short, there were a few incidents and it was shut down. Our group of protagonists decide to revisit it, and a series of events occur. At the end, they end up having a happy ending and forgetting about the abandoned pizzaria.

In my opinion, i believe that if Scott Cawthon had a different writer and, its target audience was set up a little higher for more mature audiences, i believe it wouldve been far more suspense and horror-themed, just like the games (excluding FNAF security breach and its continuations).

To put it in short, if the book had been written differently and for a more mature audience it would have had more success. In the other hand, however, it is a thrilling book for the younger audiences as it has little to no gore, no sexual themes, and is written well enough for younger audiences who like suspense and thriller and are starting out to enjoy thoroughly.

  1. I´m not really into robots with animalistic features, but I think I´ll give a chance to a book which mixes suspense and horror. They usually keep on the edge of your seat...and I´m "mature audience". That´s for the recommendation!
